I am Ty Bell, a proud daughter of Meridian, Mississippi—born, raised, and bred at Redline. My roots run deep in this community, and my journey has been shaped by the people, values, and experiences that make our city great. As a product of Meridian’s public schools and a graduate of Meridian High School, I understand firsthand the potential within our city and the need to invest in our people and our future.
My educational journey took me beyond Meridian, but my heart never left home. I attended Alcorn State University and The University of Southern Mississippi, expanding my knowledge in business and leadership. I also had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at King’s College in London, England, focusing on Marketing and International Economics. These experiences broadened my perspective and reinforced my passion for creating opportunities that uplift our community.
I have spent my career working in industries that touch lives and build communities. From the USDA to Walt Disney World, from American Girl Place under Mattel Toy Company to serving as a flight attendant for 16 years, I have gained invaluable experience in business, customer service, and leadership. My background in both the private and public sectors has prepared me to bring innovative, effective, and people-first leadership to Meridian.
Public service has always been at the heart of my mission. I previously served on the Civil Service Commission Board under the last administration, where I worked to ensure fairness and accountability in local government. As a current councilwoman, I have been a strong advocate for crime reduction, economic development, youth empowerment, and city beautification—all with the goal of making Meridian a place where families can thrive.
Tougher consequences for criminals while addressing the root causes of crime with youth programs and economic opportunities.
Boosting our economy by empowering local entrepreneurs and attracting new businesses to create jobs and opportunities.
Ensuring a cleaner, more vibrant city through strict litter enforcement and community revitalization.
Creating activities, mentorship programs, and career pathways for our young people.
This campaign is about more than just electing a mayor—it’s about transforming our city together. Meridian’s best days are ahead of us, and I am ready to lead with integrity, bold action, and an unwavering commitment to our community.
I believe in HER—our beautiful Queen City of Meridian. I believe in her potential, her resilience, and her promise. I believe in the families, the businesses, the students, the workers, and the dreamers who call Meridian home. Together, we can build a brighter future by focusing on Hope, Excellence, and Renewal—the pillars that make our city strong.
I also believe in HER—Councilwoman Ty Bell. I am a leader who listens, a leader who acts, and a leader who cares. I have served our city with dedication, integrity, and a vision for progress. As your next Mayor, I will continue to work tirelessly to improve our schools, strengthen public safety, create economic opportunities, and uplift every corner of Meridian.
When you say, "I Believe in HER," you're saying you believe in the power of our city and the power of leadership that puts people first.
Let’s come together to build a Meridian that honors its rich past while embracing an even greater future. The time is now. The leader is here. And the city we all love is ready to rise.
